Intimate Luxury + Beauty for Harneet + Sim…it’s not every day that you see a traditional wedding guest list taken from hundreds to thirty-four. Yet, that is what this beautiful Vancouver couple did to respect the social distancing during the pandemic. The break from tradition created an utterly gorgeous and intimate Vancouver wedding. The boho-Indian fusion ceremony can only be described as magical. We were honored to feature these nuptials by Amrit Photography in the 2021 issue of West Coast Weddings Magazine.
When we read the bride’s description of her wedding, we knew that these two were a special couple. Harneet wrote: “We knew we wanted to move forward with our lives in marriage, regardless of the challenges. However, it was important for us to plan a safe wedding and a great experience for us and our families. While everyone supported our wishes for a wedding this summer, it took some time to get people to feel comfortable breaking away from some traditions, such as large indoor weddings and a week of festivities. We ultimately planned the intimate, boho-garden wedding in my parents’ backyard that I’d always dreamed of! In the first week of June, we changed our wedding date to Saturday, July 4, 2020, and cut down our guest list from hundreds to 34. I only had a few weeks until our wedding, so my family and I came together very quickly to plan the decor, food, and other vendors. I had already booked Aquarius Art when I first began planning my wedding at the Gurudwara. Now that we were going to have a backyard wedding, I contacted the vendors of a boho photoshoot that my family and I were inspired by, and within about a week, I had booked them. It was reassuring to know that the wedding I had dreamt of could become a reality. I wore the bridal lehnga I had been eagerly waiting to wear from the Vivah Collection. Although we couldn’t have all of our family and friends attend the ceremony, we got to share the experience with them through a live stream. Hundreds of our family and friends tuned in and watched our ceremony via live stream, and we Facetimed some family throughout our wedding day.”
We love that this couple concentrated on what was important: their commitment to each other and their family. It’s a real testament to love, romance, and marrying each other because it’s the right time. The party can always come later! And we know it will! Intimate Luxury and Beauty won the day for this Vancouver wedding couple.
You are invited to another Vancouver Indian fusion wedding!
