Whimsical Wildflower Wedding for Zoey + Adam

A traditional Jewish ceremony held outdoors was just the beginning of this lovely Vancouver Island wedding. Family and friends enjoyed a day of love, natural beauty, and good food while witnessing the exchange of vows. The day began under the chuppah and ended under a romantic white ceiling of twinkle lights.

Zoey + Adam, a young Jewish couple from Montreal, wanted a small, intimate wedding. In the bride’s words, “We dreamed of getting married somewhere significant to us, a place we knew we would return to year after year. We fell in love with the raw beauty of Victoria while dating, and just like that, the destination was set! Our traditional Jewish ceremony was held at Saxe Point in Esquimalt, the perfect place where our guests could experience the ocean and green landscapes Vancouver Island is known for. In designing the reception, we wanted to draw on the natural beauty of the ceremony. We draped the reception hall and strung fairy lights to create an intimate setting, with whimsical pastel florals to bring the outside beauty in. Our favorite design element was the placement of our wedding color, the perfect shade of pastel purple, thoughtfully used throughout our florals, stationery, and candle sticks. Our purple wedding was made a reality!”

We love the welcome sign filled with blooms, the floral vases scattered everywhere, and the swoony ceremony kiss! Zoey is radiant in a strapless ballgown and carrying a bouquet of pastel blooms, perfectly representing her bridesmaids, wearing different shades of the same colors. Adam wore the traditional yarmulke during the ceremony with his suit and the Kittel. The traditional smashing of the glass was followed by the cry of ‘Mazel Tov’ to bring the couple good fortune. The blessing of the Challah bread was a beautiful moment during a reception that was a great night of rejoicing for all the guests.

Zoey and Adam captured the day when they took time to reflect. “Looking back on our wedding today, a memory that comes to mind is when we snuck away to catch a glimpse of our reception hall, a space that would soon be filled with our friends and family. Holding hands, we took in the moment, just the two of us as a a newly married couple, where we could see our vision come to life and admire the work of our amazing vendors who took our vision and made it a reality.”
