Victoria Harbourfront Wedding

Love filled the air on a warm, sunny September afternoon as Arianna and Alastair started their journey of forever in a picturesque ceremony that captured hearts and created memories to last a lifetime. Set against the backdrop of Victoria’s bustling Inner Harbour at the Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort, their wedding day was a symphony of elegance and emotion as two families united in a celebration of love and remembrance. From the private emotional exchange of vows to the joyous celebration that followed, every moment was imbued with a sense of magic and meaning. Each detail planned by the couple was filled with thought and purpose, as both the bride and groom carried the weight of the loss of their mothers, who watched over them from the stars above.

The ceremony was held under blue sky, and guests enjoyed the perfect view of Victoria’s waterfront. Acoustic music by Steph MacPherson led the processional, which included the couple’s puppy, Scooter, and their adorable nieces and nephews. Meaningful songs hand-picked by the couple included artists such as Taylor Swift (duh), Coldplay, and Louis Armstrong. Arianna walked down the aisle with her father, radiant in her By Lillian West gown, complete with a sewn-in piece of her mother’s wedding dress. A vision of grace and strength, carrying a stunning bouquet by Thorn & Thistle, filled with pastel florals including the bride & her late mother’s favorites Roses, Dahlias, and Orchids. Tears filled their eyes as they stood at the front, facing two empty chairs adorned with flowers and photos of their mothers. By her side, Alastair, handsome and steadfast, with a piece of his mom’s favourite scarf in his pocket, held her hand, promising a lifetime of love and support.

As the sun dipped, casting a golden glow on the festivities, guests enjoyed mingling during cocktail hour on the harbor patio while the bride and groom took photos with their families. No small feat when you’ve got a large Greek & British family! Onto the reception, guests enjoyed a fabulous family-style dinner in a room filled with romantic florals and twinkling lights. Arianna and Alastair placed their head table in the center of the room so they could be surrounded by the ones they loved most. During the heartfelt speeches wrought with laughter and some embarrassing tales, guests learned just a little more about the special bond that Arianna and Alastair hold. As the couple danced, their embrace spoke volumes, a testament to the enduring power of love to heal.
