Somewhere Over the Rainbow Wedding…inspired by the film Wizard of Oz, this wedding shoot is filled with vivid colours that would wow the movie makers themselves. Vancouver Island wedding pros outdid themselves with this thematic nuptial shoot.
The designers chose Bird’s Eye Cove Farm, a beautiful location in the Cowichan Valley, with its stunning grounds with rolling hills and ocean views and a grand traditional timber barn with an open, airy feel that fills with natural light. 
Bezaire Floral created these stunningly brilliant, colourful, and fun floral designs. She chose plenty of bright buds and ferns to frame the romantic story. The sweetheart table is beautifully crowded with glass bud vases popping with single buds alongside larger floral displays. The piece de resistance is the dessert display cart overflowing with florals. Our fav is the mini cheesecakes with the perfect raspberries on top though the ruby red candy apples with ribbons are also a serious contender. The fabulous cake with bright yellow mums perfectly crowns the mouthwatering collection of goodies.
The bride and groom are impeccably stylish as they stand in the field, overlooking an epic ocean view. The bride style here is through the roof. The sophisticated veil and gown are a foil to the lush green satin dress. Every bride would love a chance to wear two gowns on her day! And this one takes the cake, so to speak. The emerald ring is a fashion statement in this Wizard of Oz thematic wedding shoot. The groom understood the assignment by showing up in a green-toned suit sans tie, looking handsome.
We have to admire the ruby-red floral shoes – a real showstopper! We love how there is even a floral ‘yellow brick road.’ The velvet red vintage couch is amazing, and, of course, there is a bicycle. Somewhere over the rainbow wedding is a real west coast wedding inspiration for every couple looking for a beautiful and fun day!
TIP: Thematic weddings are unique, crowd-pleasing, and memorable. And they can be sophisticated and beautiful. Just choose something you love and then commit to the look. Tbh – one of the best and most stylish weddings we have ever attended was circus themed! So don’t be afraid and talk to your wedding planner about incorporating your favorite things into your big day.
