Local Vancouver Gown Designers Launch Bridal Collection. We love local gown designers and British Columbia is gloriously full of talent. Park + Fifth is the latest talented entry to bridal fashion.
Brides-to-be will be able to choose from a selection of ten bodices and 16 skirt styles to create a custom wedding dress suited to their tastes. The collection was designed with the modern bride in mind, featuring sleek silhouettes with leg slits and more traditional staples with full skirts and long trains. All dresses are hand-made in Vancouver and are available nationwide at price points ranging from $500 to $1300.
Park + Fifth was founded in 2016 by Zoe Tisshaw, Brooke Johansen and Jenny Wright-Harper. The women noticed a gap in the market for affordable and re wearable bridesmaid dresses and quickly gained recognition for their Un-Bridesmaid Collection, a line of minimalist and sustainable made bridesmaid gowns. The owners are continuing this trend with their bridal collection, offering brides quality and tasteful wedding dresses at reasonable price points.
“Park + Fifth was born during a time when our friends were starting to get married and asking us to take part in their bridal parties. We grew frustrated with the lack of options available in Canada and didn’t want to break the bank on dresses we’d never wear again,” said Zoe Tisshaw, co-owner of Park + Fifth. “Now, as Brooke and I are planning our own weddings, we felt inspired to create a line of wedding dresses that encapsulates those same values of versatility, affordability and sustainability, while keeping the modern bride in mind.”
Park + Fifth’s bridal collection will allow brides to mix and match tops and skirts to create their perfect wedding dress. Bodices range from lace corsets to sophisticated off-the-shoulder cuts to bohemian tops with flowing sleeves. Skirts are available in sheath, princess and mermaid styles with several featuring a signature high leg slit. In keeping with their mission to run a sustainable business, Park + Fifth’s wedding dresses are made from Japanese crepe and rare lace sourced from Ragfinders and local Vancouver retailers. All dresses are made-to-order with a 90-day turnaround.
