West Coast Weddings Magazine Vancouver 2024

A new issue, new ownership, and a new outlook! West Coast Weddings Magazine released the newest 2024 British Columbia issue with an emphasis on the Greater Vancouver area including weddings and events from Vancouver Island and the Interior. The future plan is to have issues covering the entire province as well as a Vancouver Island local issue.

The latest magazine builds on the previous 10 issues with a downtown Vancouver fashion spread, a local designer highlight page, and a new look to the vendor directory. The beautiful venues of the Greater Vancouver area grace several pages along with real weddings and styled shoots. 

The new issue surprised guests at the West Coast Weddings Industry Evening at Hilton Vancouver Metrotown and everyone was leafing through the glossy pages! Couples who attended the West Coast Wedding Show on May 5th found the issue in their swag bags and expressed their appreciation for a magazine that highlights local talent.

We can’t thank Gabe McClintock Photography enough for this issue’s cover photo. It was a unanimous decision that this photo was THE one! The wildness of the ocean symbolizes the journey the couple is embarking on, and that is emblematic of our ventures as well. It’s a match made in heaven, so to speak!

New Moon Bridal Inspiration! A photoshoot that came together from women who wanted to showcase a vintage, romantic, and timeless feel, showing a strong-willed woman as a bride. This palette steers clear from a conventional bridal look and rather, presents a chic yet soft vibe with a gorgeous, androgynous pantsuit. The location is at “The Wallace” – a venue by the shipyards in North Vancouver which explains the industrial look! We loved the modern look to show that women can feel beautiful and sexy in attire that is not a traditional wedding dress.

Bridal Grace and Style High Above Vancouver...we loved how pretty this styled shoot is so much that we featured it in West Coast Weddings Magazine’s 2021 Greater Mainland issue. The bride getting ready for her wedding is a special moment, and this shoot perfectly captured that. 

The bride is the star in this palette, but a close second is the backdrop! The view of the skyline behind is amazing and creates an ethereal feel to the entire scene. Your photographer will love you if you have a beautiful spot to get ready! 

The pretty is in the details here. The white heels featuring crystals (Badgley Mischka!!) are paired with the drop earrings. Peach, ivory roses, and anemones surround the gold-edged glass charger plate and gold cutlery.  Light blue napkins sit on each setting, complementing the traditional bridal veil. 

Bridal grace and style inspire the lovely updo and makeup that peek at us from behind the veil. The floral hairpiece features ivory and peach roses at the back of the updo, perfect for a Vancouver wedding reception.

We love that this styled shoot marries the best of Vancouver’s skyline with city sophistication (and local wedding pros who love both!). British Columbia weddings continue to show off the local love and talent in the industry.

Bohemian Summer Westfalia Vibes…stylish brides, hand-painted cookies, throw pillows, a photo van, and way too much pretty to handle! This Vancouver Wedding Styled Shoot is trendy in the best way. All the wonderful details come together and make us wish we were part of this picnic!

First things first. That pantsuit and the bride who rocks it! It’s all about attitude, and this bride looks like she was born for this. The wicker, pampas grass, and throw pillows bring such a bohemian vibe. The blue shade across the van is carried throughout the colour palette and paired with peach and ivory tones. The macrame backdrop ties together the style inspiration. 

The blue glass, beads, and floral are perfect for the beautifully unique cake to sit. The rich detail across the tablescape invites the eye to the place settings on the wooden table. And we can’t get over the detail on those cupcakes sitting on upended vintage glasses.

Let’s not forget the more traditional bride in her ivory gown. Little Pink Dress designs the bridal gown in Vancouver – shop local never looked so good! We love the plunging neckline and the lovely artlessness about it.

Flawless Indian Bridal Fusion style turned out to be perfection at TJ and Tirath’s wedding. The bride and her bridal party are utterly beautiful and give a modern twist to the traditional costume. 

We love the use of color – the bride’s light golden blush along with the deeper shade of pink on the bridesmaids is so lovely. All the customary traditions were stylishly adhered to along with a dash of contemporary. The deep red gown is the height of luxury on the dais of complementing deep red roses and gold backdrop. A modern and luxurious take on the customary reception look for Indian weddings.

We think that this wedding could be described as fusion – not between two different cultures but between the old and the new. This couple took the Indian wedding party in full regalia to the lakes and mountains for a full photo shoot. The results were startling – a beautiful juxtaposition between the old world cultures and the majestic scenery of British Columbia.

The flawless Indian bridal fusion is a real inspiration to couples who have a cultural background to pull into their wedding. Romance, fun, tradition and contemporary all together can create the best king of wedding day!

Winter Magic Wedding Inspiration is perfect for today! We love to see some sparkle and shimmer! The bride shows off a stunning tiara, ring and earrings  which sets the luxurious setting and all the details which shine as well…

The inspiration for this shoot is the intense romance that comes with winter proposals and weddings – the white on white with hints of silver and blue draw the eye to the serene beauty of the bride. 

The stunning off the shoulder gown boasts a marvelous skirt covered in lace which shimmers in the light.  The adorable bridal shoes shout of luxury and comfort. A second bridal gown is a lace overlay over a blush colour skimming over the bride flattering all her curves. The underskirt ends while the sheer overlay continues to the floor and is a fun, sexy addition to the dress.

The Winter Magic Wedding reception decor allows the sparkle and texture of white on white with the smallest hints of colour to please the eye. The head table boasts a live edge of roses and greenery.  The blue is tied in with the white wedding cake featuring painted details and the same blue hints in the paper suite. Last, but not least, the Vera Wang cake knife with it’s own magic sparkle!

Sweet Memories were made by Emily + Brandon at their Saanich Wedding Day held on Vancouver Island. Everything about this wedding reflects thoughtful taste and classic beauty. Of course, the eye catching skirt on the bride is the style highlight!

The ceremony venue already has naturally epic views looking over Sea Cider’s orchards and the ocean beyond. However, the metal triangle backdrop accented with floral, featuring the skirt material and ferns, creates an intimate space for Emily and Brandon’s vows. Their guests enjoy seats under the industrial door framing the open deck and views beyond. 

The bride certainly shines in a timeless yet more casual bridal style. The white top is partnered with a truly spectacular custom made skirt along with white pearls . The colour is perfect so as to not overwhelm yet it is a personal style triumph. The light purple and blue larkspur are matched with white anemones and greenery in a bouquet that reflects the geometric theme. 

Orchard Walk Provides Sweet Memories

The lovely orchard walk taken after the ceremony by the newlyweds allowed for some gorgeous shots – we especially loved the bride twirling her lovely skirt and the couple holding each other. 

The reception featured the setting sun over  a tent in the orchard. The geometric gold metal candle holders look wonderful on the wooden tables surrounded by Italian Ruscus and Gypsophila (Baby’s Breath). The table runners and metal chairs complete the simple yet timeless elegance that this entire wedding epitomizes. Last, but not least, we must admire the tea cup giveaways for the guests.
