Bridal Style in Downtown Vancouver

A bride’s style is the ultimate fashion choice in a woman’s life, so it’s no surprise to find unique and trendy designs at West Coast Weddings. This shoot, featured in West Coast Weddings Magazine 2024, flaunted the beauty of the brides and the city. The Vancouver Art Gallery lions were unbothered by the gorgeous fashion but were an amazing backdrop to the streets behind them.

The stunning shots display the glamour of a pre-wedding shoot, a trend that has traveled to the Western world via the Asian world. Couples are choosing their destinations, which vary from their backyard (easy to do in British Columbia) to flying to their dreams, such as Paris, Bali, Norway, or Hawaii. Others choose spots such as the Great Wall, a volcano, the tops of the mountains, a castle, or London Bridge. Whatever the fantasy, it can be created for a Pre-Wedding Shoot!

Why are couples choosing pre-wedding shoots? It’s a moment in time that many want to have celebrated forever. However, there are actually some great logical reasons as well. First, the couple gets to know their photographer and get relaxed with the camera. Second, couples don’t want to abandon guests on their wedding day to take photos when they are not in the zone. Photos on a wedding day usually revolve around family and the wedding party. So it’s hard to get those romantic epic shots at your wedding venue. Third, who doesn’t want epic shots to show off on your wedding day? Pre-wedding shots are often used as a theme for the actual wedding.

Pre-wedding shoots, while often luxurious (check out this article!), can also be close to home and intimate. Couples can center their shoot around a hobby, their pets, their favorite bar, or their jobs. One of our favorite pre-wedding shoots is underwater, and the bride could not swim!

One thing is for sure: pre-wedding shots feature some amazing fashion. You can easily rent out-of-this-world gowns just for the day and live the dream of being a fashion model. These gowns would not be functional at an actual wedding, but the sky is the limit for a pre-wedding shoot!  Guys are not left out; a groom can choose colorful suits, tux, and tails. Dare to be unique!
