Graceful + Green Wedding

The Pacific Ocean’s stunning backdrop and lovely details naturally put this wedding over the top. Deanna and Brent are experienced at wedding planning—they are the go-to models for styled wedding shoots (many of which have been featured on West Coast Weddings)! So, they knew what they wanted for their own nuptials.

Brent, a naval officer, and Deanna, from the West Coast, have had the ocean intertwined in their love story for the past 12 years. So it was perfect that their ceremony was held on the patio of the CFB Esquimalt Wardroom, featuring panoramic ocean views and charming, historic architecture. Several ships were even kind enough to sail by during the ceremony! The sunshine was complemented by a gentle breeze and sparkling water as the couple exchanged their vows.

The Wardroom boasts beautifully crafted mahogany and floor-to-ceiling windows and offers multiple spacious rooms for the seamless transition from dinner to dancing. Every moment exuded a natural, earthy vibe and elegant sentiment.

Wedding designer Brittany Sagal left no detail overlooked. The ceremony and reception were adorned with flowers from Deanna and her mom, Deborah’s gardens, and the bridal bouquets were a beautiful mix of roses, eucalyptus, and other floral elements, with the stunning arch boutique crafted by Brown’s the Florist. A herbal theme ran throughout the day, with small pots of herbs surprising guests on tables and along the aisle. The sage green linens popped with a small herb on each folded napkin atop wood grain plates. Pretty and organic!

Deanna and Brent opted for classic, elegant looks for their wedding. The bride wore a stunning gown with lacy details and a long train from Blush Bridal, while the groom looked incredibly handsome in a full black tuxedo and bowtie. We love that they had photos taken of themselves ‘getting ready’ together. Deanna’s smile and personality were, as usual, on display, adding to her gorgeous look.

The newlyweds chose to get some epic shots along the ocean and nearby artistic buildings and joined guests who were celebrating. Following their beautiful first dance at sunset, the couple surprised their guests with a choreographed dance to Soul Bossa Nova alongside their parents. This wedding truly encapsulated the classic West Coast vibe. Congrats to Deanna + Brent!
