Something Blue Wedding
A chic urban West Coast vibe fused with vintage and Asian influences made for a unique memory for Emma and Shamus. Their guests loved the amazing weekend, which featured an entertaining house reception with an overwhelming amount of food and fun. (We love how the invite actually said that the reception would end in dancing, and guests were invited to bring pajamas—a first for this blog writer!). The uniqueness of this wedding landed it in the latest West Coast Weddings Vancouver Island issue.
Emma and Shamus decided to make their ceremony the biggest part of their wedding weekend. It was attended by many family and friends, and there was a considerable presence of guests on Zoom. (We have to give a shout-out to the MOH who walked down the aisle through a fashion disaster with the chutzpah of a rock star – and still kept all her attention on the bride!!) The newlyweds chose to spend time afterward taking photos and put off the reception until the next day. So they could relax and have fun with the images, and it shows. Vancouver Island weddings have the best places to take some pretty epic shots!
The bride and groom are both stylish characters, and we love the look. Emma rocked a sparkly midnight blue gown with a white caped veil attached and donned intricate hair jewelry. Shamus ensured he stole some of the limelight in a complementing blue suit and peacock bowtie. The bouquet brought it all together with jewel tones of every hue, and the eye-catching floral lapel (boutonniere) was the crowning touch. The wedding party wore light grey/blue vintage, which was the perfect foil to the color palette.
Emma and Shamus are the poster children for doing your wedding your way and having fun with their guests, too. Something Blue Wedding inspires all West Coast couples looking for a unique way to celebrate.
