Twiggy Eyes + The Beehive 60’s Wedding Inspiration is a retro shoot like no other! It started with an original veil and white gloves from the designer’s mother and ended with the models eating ambrosia to a Beach Boys soundtrack with even the video being given a Super 8 feel.
The big hair and big eye make up are naturally part of any 60’s bridal day. The vintage wedding dress and shoes were sources from a local shop and, of course, are authentic to the period. Also true to the 1960’s is the peridot ring (owned by the florist which was her mother’s), the white dinner jacket from the 1950’s that was custom made in the Caribbean, a gorgeous white 1957 T-Bird Convertible and dishes and silver items from that decade.
The floral design is a huge part of this incredible look. The very colorful choices being back the chaotic and bright feel of that time. Flowers are joyful at this wedding and surround the couple with love. They are, dare we say, groovy!
We especially love the antique green champagne glasses used as risers in the cake along with a very old “bride and groom” topper, Popsicles, teak chairs from the 60’s, and the Martini cocktails at a wedding!
Black and white photos are a must for this shoot and we encourage you to visit the photographer’s IG for even more retro fun. So fab!
A ‘going away’ outfit and picnic is the perfect look to finish this inspiration palette, complete with the bride changing into a “going away” outfit as was often the case at weddings. They enjoy ambrosia salad (a big hit in those days), strawberries, rose wine and, naturally, play croquet! We cannot say enough about this vignette and the thoughtful design behind it – any couple who wants to have a Twiggy Eyes + The Beehive 60’s feel to their big day can look to this very happening wedding for ideas.
