Glamour & Gold at The Wallace…so this is love! So says the sign glowing above the newlywed’s sweetheart table in this spectacular style shoot. Vancouver wedding professionals outdid themselves, showing off modern trends in a boho venue. What an honor to feature this pretty in our magazine!

The Wallace is a venue that has it all for the Vancouver bride. Industrial glamour mixes with sophisticated lines. Located on the waterfront of North Vancouver, it boasts amazing views of Vancouver Harbour—the perfect spot for a Vancouver wedding reception.

AJD Designs fashioned the floral masterpieces with textures and a trendy mix of dried and fresh flowers. The bride’s bouquet, created with pretty pastels and dark greenery, brought everyone’s eyes to the gorgeous bride. We especially love the ceiling masterpiece and the unusual use of palm leaves.

Let’s talk about the ivory-colored gowns (yes, you read that right – two gowns!) from Isabelle’s Bridal. This bride and groom are pinnacles of sophisticated style. Pinterest worthy in every way. The bride’s makeup is smoky and works with the palette around her and her smoldering groom!

Steveston Creative’s neon “so this is love” sign floated above all the pretty to give the ‘wow’ effect. Lonsdale Event Rentals, Mohani Event Design, and Pretty Things knocked it out of the park with this moody collection of beautiful designs. The black touches are perfectly suited to pop amongst the backdrop of neutral tones. The black candles, wine glasses, plates (with gold foil edges!), and black chairs are stunning. The paper suite is the gold standard bringing everything together with a bow.

The best part of this shoot is the real-life newlyweds, who you might recognize! Vancouver Warrior’s Lacrosse player James Rahe and his beautiful wife, Shustine. This is a true BC wedding-style shoot that brings together the best of Vancouver.

Love Letters at Dolphin’s Resort in Campbell River…we love all the wonderful details in this lovely palette. Take a look at the linen-covered in lettering, modern and traditional decor, blush floral, and, of course, the amazing ceiling decor!

Dolphin’s Resort boasts a sweeping ocean view and this beauty is used as a backdrop to the wedding table. Pale flowers are placed in a quirky manner in white vases while white on white linens and tableware shine. We especially love the gold flatware, tall white taper candles, and twigs that are spread across the tablescape. The piece de resistance is the linen that pools over the edge and onto the floor. A poem espousing love is beautifully done in calligraphy across the linen. The gorgeous wedding cake sits in a gold stand on the pooled linen. The bridal couple is so stylish and sophisticated. The bride is in a stunning white, V-neck, lace gown with a stunning back feature. The fit and flare is perfect for the West Coast relaxed formal look.

A real piece of art within this shoot is the ceiling decor made of twigs and floral. The delicate creation appears to hang in the air above the long table. Macrame Boho Picnic Wedding Inspiration…Macramé, light wooden tables, overflowing florals, and mismatched rugs make a brilliant backdrop for a boho picnic wedding.

Picnics were once a classic summer-day activity but are now a stylish option to celebrate your marriage. Picnics can take on any theme you wish but this palette is created with a soft and romantic feel. Inspired by nature and the beauty of the outdoors yet modern decor and florals make for a beautiful tableau.

The scene begins with a cozy table setting stocked with fluffy pillows where guests can sip on cocktails while nibbling down finger foods. Autumn Hues and Stylish Wedding Beauty…we love the floral, the fall colours and the black wedding cake! Gorgeous trees surround the bridal couple and sweetheart table covered in candlesticks and flowers.

The bride shows off a gorgeous form fitting dress with open back and train. Of course, her red hair is her crowning beauty and it falls over her shoulder in soft curls. The stunning bridal bouquet features dusty miller, roses, blue thistle, white anemone, and eucalyptus falling softly over her arms.

The black wedding cake is a true piece of art. Detailed work along the side is complemented with fresh floral and sits atop a gold fluted cake plate. Navy and black are showcased by gold décor and place settings. The plates themselves have a dark napkin folded with name card placed on top. Iona Beach Intimate Wedding

Iona Beach Intimate Wedding…this couple has all the luck with a little rain on their wedding day. Ryanna and Brendan are very easygoing and this worked well for them when they had to change their wedding plans due to the pandemic. Both love the ocean so the original plan was to marry in Hawaii. When everything had to change, they opted to go ahead with their wedding and simply moved the intimate ocean-side ceremony right into their own backyard of Iona Beach.

Everyone anxiously kept an eye on the weather leading up to their special day, and it was supposed to be sunny! Mother nature had other plans, though, and unfortunately, it started to pour during the ceremony. Surrounded by their closest family and friends and led by her parents, Ryanna braved the rain and walked down the aisle, with smiles all around.

The couple embraced the weather and said their vows excitedly while standing between the ocean and mountains. Immediately after signing their marriage license, the sun came out! With blue skies and the gorgeous mirror of the beach shallows, they created some amazing images by the sea. The umbrellas ended up adding a special touch to the day.

We love the bride’s veil, the kiss under the umbrella, the blue begowned bridesmaids and the seashells. The newlyweds look marvelous along the water’s edge and in the field of grass nearby. A perfect beach wedding right here in British Columbia.

With the spread of COVID-19 not slowing down anytime soon, it seems like intimate weddings and elopements will become increasingly popular, and perhaps for the better! Ryanna and Brendan are a real west coast couple and their Iona Beach Intimate Wedding is an inspiration to us all.

Love + Llama Boho Wedding Inspiration is a eye popping blend of colour and unique décor. Of course, the highlight of this palette is the llama! Pets at weddings have become a norm at weddings but a llama is still a surprise! We love all the details and beauty in this boho beauty.

The bride and groom in this imaginative shoot show off perfect boho finery. The bride wears a gorgeous custom lace design with transparent belled sleeves, peek a boo back and small train. Funky jewelery and braided hair completes her hipster bridal look. The groom is rocking a wide brimmed hat, brown jacket and his own earrings!

The décor is the piece de resistance with lots of neutrals, macramé, wicker and colour. Orange and blue dominate the beige linens and table with papyrus grass waving above it all. The wedding cake is a fun oval shape with muted orange and cream icing complete with print. Turquoise antique glass and vases hold candles alongside a gorgeous paper suite mirroring the décor. The best part is the floral featuring bright blue bachelor buttons along with calla lilies, white peonies, purple larkspur and peach and yellow roses.

A llama bedecked with tassels of every shade is not an everyday sight but this llama carries it off with panache! She ambles down the lane with the wedding couple looking perfectly at ease. There are so many farm weddings happening now that choosing a llama farm is actually a wonderful option. Original, unique and a lot of fun!

UBC Boathouse Wedding for Ruby and Roy

UBC Boathouse Wedding for Ruby and Roy…whose wedding was full of fun, laughter, family, beauty and lots of ethnic foods! This modern couple’s day showed off their bigger than life personalities but also showcased traditional foods. Ruby and Roy, along with their friends and family, were among the last to party the night away before COVID-19 shutdown took place in March 2020. We are talking hours, folks! So this couple spent the week before their wedding unsure if it would even take place and had to change their honeymoon plans at literally the last minute. They kept their spirits up with the thought of the guests who were able to come and that this will be something they will talk about the rest of their lives!!

Ruby found her lace, form fitting gown with train and veil in Victoria and chose to have gorgeous tropical flowers in her bouquet and reception flowers. Burgundy calla lilies and orchids along with blush pink and white roses created a bold floral design which carried through the reception decor. We loved the hair crown which was placed at the back of the bride’s spectacular braided and loosely curled hair. Her bridesmaid complemented in a burgundy, full length gown and flowers in her hair. This wedding featured quite the stylish groom who wore a blue grey dinner jacket with black lapels and black bow tie.

The bride and groom had their couple photo session at Queen Elizabeth Park…where the sun cooperated by shining through the trees at just the right moments. While they were enjoying time with their photographer over forty of their friends were working to create the entire wedding reception in less than two hours. Tables and chairs were placed while the next team put on linens, placed settings and created table centerpieces. Ruby’s father, Jordan, had cut log rounds of all sizes for the reception and glass vases with floating candles were placed on top of each with eucalyptus and blush roses tucked around. (We loved the small log round giveaways burnt with the couple’s names!) A Vancouver ceiling decor specialist worked around everyone hanging a white fabric treatment and industrial lights.

The head table decor reached from one end of the 24 ft table to the other with over 50 glass vases, 100 glass candle holders and 35 log rounds of various sizes. Blush roses and eucalyptus finished the candle lit look while the Vancouver water front was the backdrop. Guests ate while watching a spectacular sunset onto the water through the glass walls. Roy’s family and friends brought in entire roast pigs and, what seemed like endless amounts of Philippine traditional cuisine.

Ruby and Roy took advantage of the setting sun and walked along the water front edge together catching some spectacular couple shots. Afterwards, they and their guests danced knowing it would be the last party for a very long time. This UBC Boathouse Wedding for Ruby and Roy will be a wedding that everyone will remember!

Romantic Elopement on the Lake! Gorgeous mountains, serene lake, lush greenery – it’s all in this romantic shooting session held at Spectacle Lake. We fell in love with these photos and were thrilled to have them in the pages of the 2020 Vancouver Island West Coast Weddings magazine. The photographer, Brittany Carey, shot these while attending the Content Collective by Eva Cherneff. on Vancouver Island.

The Reclamation lace gown features an off the shoulder fringe matched with a parasol. The bride’s hair and makeup were kept natural and relaxed in keeping with the beauty all around her. The groom and his tux and bow tie bring the formal touch to the entire palette.

The theme of the surrounding landscape continues with the bouquet of ferns and blue flowers with trailing ribbons. The wild and beautiful view all around this pair is the perfect backdrop to their intimate embraces. This romantic elopement at Spectacle Lake shows off all that Vancouver Island has to offer adventurous eloping couples .
