Winter Wedding Beauty! Faux fur, feathers, cones, antlers, and willow are just a few of the local ingredients used to create this timeless look. Textures, details, and uniqueness are the signature statements of this white wonderland forest shoot. We loved this Four Seasons palette so much that we featured it in our 2021 print issue. We are in love with the idea of snow as the bride’s skirt and a headdress of willow that is utterly unique. Did we mention the natural eyebrow enhancement! Our eye is drawn to the extraordinary creation that sits atop the bride’s lovely hair. An artist’s dream, for sure. And a real statement for eco-friendly wedding decor! 

Not to be outdone the outdoor reception sits upon an antique table with faux fur draped across the chairs. tapered candles, a chocolate cheesecake, and gold cutlery nestled in their own bed of feathers.

Bohemian Inspired Elopement…this dreamy wedding took place at Vancouver’s ‘local castle’ better known as Swaneset. A stunning building surrounded by trees, with cascading staircases and ballrooms. A group of creative minds came together to turn a vision into reality, and the result takes your breath away.

We love the sun streaming through the windows onto this gorgeous tableau. A ceremony backdrop centers the room with florals all around. The pampas grass is perfect for the sun-dappled look, and the bride and groom have plenty of room to dance! We also love the bridal bouquet. The unexpected colours create a dramatic look and include a deep pink protea alongside yellow roses and greenery.

The bride is so beautiful in her sleeveless gown featuring a low V neck and form-fitting skirt. The train completes the formal fashion look, which is paired with the bride’s natural curls. The groom is not left out with his blue suit and tie and looking very dapper with his floral boutonniere. 

The decor in this palette is truly stunning and original. The basket chairs edged in grasses are very creative, and the entire feel is light and airy. White fabric is pillowed across the table and spills over the ends of a table filled with neutrals, place settings, and colourful flowers. Macaroons and cupcakes surround a lovely cake topped with grasses and flowers.

Astral Alignment Wedding Inspiration…when the stars collide you are blessed with an implosion of beauty, love and grace with this creative take on bridal style. Gold and taupe colour palette blend with the whimsical starry decor. Every now and then, the celestial night sky mesmerizes us all and reminds us that love and magic exists all around us.

Fiona, our bride, is adorned in the ever-stunning Star gown from Flutter Dress, which was clearly made for dancing the evening away with your lover under the night sky. It is flecked with gold stars and floats behind as the bride twirls around the downtown Vancouver heritage loft with her handsome fella, Calvin.

Van Simone Floral imagines a mix of dried everlasting flowers and beautiful white roses in soft ivory and golden hues. The moon arch creates a full conceptual element that offers depth and a warm romantic ambiance, perfect for any couple to say ‘I Do’.

Cupcakes iced in white sit beside white flowers and ribbons while the groom’s boutonniere reflects the softness of the decor.  Silver dollars and eucalyptus round out the floral design while taupe candles sit in old fashioned white candlesticks. We loved the gorgeous charcuterie board featuring cuisine that complemented the colour scheme!

Pacific Gateway Veranda Wedding Inspo…this beautiful intimate wedding includes a covered long table, outdoor ceremony and lounge. Gorgeous floral design, unique décor and colour all put together in this wonderful wedding tableau.

Ellssi Design & Rentals set about inspiring couples who are looking for an intimate wedding with a garden and water view. The Pacific Gateway Hotel in Vancouver has so many spaces to choose from for a wedding but this garden veranda has a perfect view. The long trestle table had white linens draping down and glass bubbles floating above the settings. The table setting featured gold charger plates, luxurious pink orchids of many hues and glass décor. Floral arrangements are also set along the top of the table frame so that they drape down along the edges adding to the sophistication.

The outdoor ceremony area is set up with wood chairs and a framed backdrop that draws in the trestle table theme. On the other side of the veranda we find a welcome burst of colour. Blossom pink lounge furniture and side tables await guests where they can sip on champagne and nibble on specialties. There is also room for the live entertainment that plays throughout the event — ceremony, reception and dance music.

This event inspiration is a perfect set up for the Covid wedding. Plenty of room for guests to socially distance and yet enjoy the wedding. Couples are able to have all the perks and beauty they might have imagined along with wonderful cuisine. This Pacific Gateway Veranda Wedding Inspiration is a perfect West Coast Wedding.

Winter Urban Fairytale Wedding….winter wonderland perfection in farmhouse and urban warehouse settings. Cosmopolitan and sophisticated with a rustic twist. Anil and Michaela are the city couple who love vintage luxury and thought of their guests every step of the way when it came to their big day.

Michaela began her day with her closes girlfriends and her mother – a pajama fest of hair and makeup. The conversation quickly began to center around the massive snow storm gathering outside. Anil and Michaela chose a ‘first look’ at a nearby farmhouse and barn. The giant snowflakes were falling as they took a tearful and happy first glance at each other.

The wedding party arrived to a packed out ceremony at the Kingdom Hall and there was plenty of tears and laughter as vows were exchanged. The bride was perfect in her Maggie Sottero fitted lace gown and cathedral veil. The veil is edged in Spanish lace and is fast becoming a ‘sisterhood’ piece between friends. The bridesmaids radiantly wore different shades of grey which served as a backdrop to bouquets made of burgundy, pink, blush and white flowers. Flowing ribbons and grey green foliage completed the luxuriant bouquets.

The reception venue reflected the couple entirely. Barn board and brick walls along with luxurious linens, chairs and décor. A juxtaposition of  luxury and vintage. Tables were arranged around lounge furniture areas with two large bar areas and featured gold candlesticks. Gold columns with cascading florals floated above flowers and greenery below. Everywhere there were small flower posies with glass candles. A ceiling hung with greenery above the dance floor was the piece de resistance.

Guests arrived to a sophisticated lounge and bar with a unique floral installation hanging over hot apple cider and wine offerings. A photo booth of antique doors and brick wall with flowers hanging across was a hit along with the candle giveaways. Violin players serenaded guests as they enjoyed tasteful finger foods.

The huge sliding barn doors opened an hour into the festivities to reveal the main reception area. Guests excited followed the signs directing them to food station themed by country – French, Indian and Greek. Another large glass bar was beside the dance floor, square and circle seated tables and lounge furniture. Later, as the DJ kept everyone dancing, crème brule and dessert stations opened. Each food station featured a different chef and team – did we mention that the groom worked in a catering setting that brought many of his friends together to do this as a wedding gift?

We loved the Indian dance that was a gift from the groom’s family, the luxurious floral which was so important to the bride’s family and the sophisticated fusion feel to the entire day. The best part was unplanned…the beautiful snowflakes which made this a winter urban fairytale wedding.
