There are two amazing oceanfront Wedding Ceremony spots, both with spectacular views.  A world-class restaurant for the reception with the ocean as your backdrop with room to dance the night away. The owners are very proud that they can offer some of the best cuisine on the West Coast with a great selection of BC Wines and craft beers. You can also have your reception outside on the oceanfront and move into the reception rooms as the night progresses. There are lots of options! We asked about the gazebo and the majestic tree in front of the beach – yes, also both popular spots!

 

The Galiano Inn Spa in the Gardens

Galiano Inn can also offer a first-class spa with massage, manicures, pedicures, facials, and an Eucalyptus Steam Room, all steps away from your room. The Madrona Del Mar Spa cottages are tucked into the beautiful garden area beside a babbling brook and fountain, which makes a massage here quite a relaxing and rejuvenating experience! The spa is the perfect way to get everyone relaxed and pretty for special events, and it takes a big ‘to do’ off your list. 

The Gardens at the Inn

We especially loved the Gardens at the Inn. The Flores Del Iris Gardens are rather famous, and guests are encouraged to wander through and enjoy the blend of wild and formal plantings. Galiano Inn works hard to be community-oriented and environmentally friendly. The Gardens are part of this effort, and you can often find local events taking place (International Women’s Day was being celebrated through local artists while we were visiting!). They also host the Kunamokst Mural, which most wedding couples pose in front of at some point! The Inn is a photographer’s paradise with beautiful gardens and beaches steps away from each other and waiting for those epic shots.

Fine Dining Along the Oceanfront

Galiano Inn is incredibly proud of its culinary offerings. Under its Executive Chef, the Atraveda Restaurant has become a peak experience for Pacific dining. They don’t shy away from dietary preferences or restrictions, so you can offer your guests diverse options to suit them without losing their authentic local tastes. The Chef will work with couples to create their menu and liquor pairings. 

Galiano Inn Wedding Guest Accommodations

The accommodations are excellent—we loved the views of the Ocean and the open-concept feel of full kitchen amenities. The suites have washers/dryers, a deck suited for summer and winter use, a large table and chairs for dining, a barbecue, a soaker tub, and a fireplace. We had the fireplace toasting us during our stay while we listened to the West Coast waves in the background—truly wonderful. Of course, there are other room types available for all your guests. Outside the Inn is a fun bakery for your sweet tooth and a bookstore filled with reading treasures. We think coming on the ferry as a foot passenger and leisurely taking the four-minute walk to the Inn is a fantastic travel option. The ferry ride is out of this world – weaving between the Gulf Islands and passing by boats. What a way to welcome your guests and begin creating special memories together!

Love at Brannen Lake Estates

This incredible elopement-style shoot was featured in our latest Vancouver Island issue. It’s a romantic and sparkly scene set in the rustic and natural beauty of Brannen Lake Estates near Nanaimo. Elopements have burst onto the wedding scene as the idea of intimacy without stress appeals to more couples. Vancouver Island Elopements is reaching new heights in creating lifetime memories for eloping couples, and the rich storytelling in this styled tableau shows why!

Love at Brannen Lake Estates is set in the countryside of Vancouver Island. However, the countryside means something quite different in BC so, of course, there is a gorgeous lake and a backdrop of mountains. The look of this rustic outdoor wedding venue changes with the seasons but is always naturally beautiful. 

The bridge and groom in this tableau bring high style to the barn wedding scene. The extravagant display of twinkling light fills the area and transforms the darkness into a candle-lit scene. What couple wouldn’t love this look? The ceremony frame backdrop boasts lavish floral arrangements of roses, orchids, and tropical greenery. The bridal bouquet embraces the floral theme, with peach and cream reflecting the barn wood colors. A unique look is the matching vintage mirrors for the pre-wedding ‘getting ready’ set on a lace-covered vanity.

We love the style choices for this dream elopement. The bride looks amazing in an off-the-shoulder gown (perfectly showing off a tattoo) with a high front slit. Comfort and glamour! The groom looks relaxed in a black shirt and pants which provide the canvas for his floral boutonniere. The style continues with a gorgeous paper suite featuring gold seals on white luxury paper. We can’t forget the lovely (and yummy) charcuterie boxes for the eloping couple to nibble on. 

Eloping on Vancouver Island is the perfect blend of magical beauty and natural landscape. Vancouver Island Elopements took this scenario up a notch with lights, candles, and beauty creating wedding magic!

Wedding Vista with a View...what a wonderful day at Blaylock Mansion. A ceremony held on a hillside with a backdrop of mountains. A reception filled with food and fun. Plus the bridal pathway, the cupcakes, and the floral on an A-frame pull together a dream.

Blaylock Mansion is filled with many charming and romantic settings for weddings. This kind of ceremony location is an experience for the bridal couple and guests to remember. The bride chose to walk along a pathway to the ceremony. A wedding vista with a view to be sure!  

We love the bride’s style for this special day. A low V neck gown featuring a lace bodice and a beautiful flowy skirt. Her natural beauty is highlighted with long brown curls falling down her back. A bridal bouquet of blush, burgundy, and beige dahlias and roses is complemented with greenery. Her groom is stylish in his own right in a blue suit and spectacular boutonniere.

We love the reception details with lovely cupcakes and an outdoor supper. The pizza party at a children’s table is an inspirational idea for sure. Iced cookies are a unique and pretty touch. Cozy Elopement Inspiration in Fraser Valley…this cozy wedding styled shoot is inspired by the chilly weather.   The cold creates a kind of mood that makes a person want to get closer and cozier with the one that they love. What would you get if you had a bride and groom that wanted to celebrate their love, enjoying the wintry west coast-ness, but also wanted to leave time and space to cozy and warm up by the fireplace. So that mood became the theme of this visual palette.

The green gown is not something that we often see but the lush colour stands out against the white surroundings. Bridal style at an elopement can include dress changes and, why not, what is there to stop you? This style shoot features a white dress with long sleeves and lace bodice paired with a natural beauty look.

Floral was a big part of our focus with the main display over top of the fireplace as well as the floral decadence that lay splayed on the dining table.  The  key floral piece is the floral sash that the bride wears in lieu of a bouquet. With the green dress, she holds a special bouquet filled with roses, anemone and greenery that drips down over the gown. The reception table, with lush roses and greenery, is the perfect backdrop to the white place settings and candles.

We love how the fireplace scene comes together.  The warmth of the fireplace, decked out in candles and shaggy furs, and crowned with the asymmetrical greenery display piece is the perfect vibe for a cozy elopement inspiration in Fraser Valley.

Sophisticated sweetheart table filled with beautiful floral and taper candles bring the romance to this tablescape. The venue, Maple Bay Manor, is an elegant boutique retreat nestled among the rolling hills, lush forests and tranquil seascapes of Vancouver Island.  ​

Blush peach and white anemones are prominently featured along with greenery and ribbons. Lush floral covers the table and falls gracefully towards the floor. Classic table settings feature menu cards with gold wax seals and white linens. Tiny floral designs are hung around the back of each chair with ribbons floating. Tall peach taper candles in gold candlesticks are placed around white pillar candles. And endless array of sophisticated romance! 

A fun addition to this table design are the cocktails which are perfectly colored to match the entire palette.  We also love the antique record player used for the ‘first dance’! 

The sophistication continues with a bridal gown featuring a flowing skirt over a mini underskirt and a lace bodice with cutout. The bride’s hair is simply gorgeous with tiny white flowers tucked into the back. The groom shines in a grey tweed suit and lighter bow tie. 

This is a wonderful inspiration shoot for couples looking for romance filled with intimacy, original decor and beauty.
