Bridal Fashion and Trends on Film…it begins with Fern of The Bride’s Closet missing the live style shows she would usually hold at the Island’s wedding shows. How could she fill this void? (SPOILER: see below!) Fern decided to gather her models (in a socially distanced way, of course!!) and video a fashion show in Nanaimo. Everyone was excited to join in this stylish idea and everyone began to plan their contribution to this event.

Laura, of West Coast Weddings, offered to make seven bouquets using local Eurosa Farms blooms. She designed boho, formal, traditional and modern bouquets to suit any gown design that Fern choose to show. Jess arrived early to make every model’s hair beautiful as the ladies began to don their gowns.

West Motion Media filmed the fashion show live at The Bride’s Closet and took the models through downtown Nanaimo locations and nearby cliffs and beaches. They could not do without some gorgeous drone shots to finish the day!

This live bridal show is a great Covid friendly idea for brides to watch the latest trends in wedding fashion. Bridal fashion and trends on film is a wonderful Vancouver Island moment we can all enjoy along with The Bride’s Closet!

Urban romance can sometimes be hard to find, but this Vancouver Island, urban wedding editorial, has a romantic atmosphere in every photo. This dramatic, inspirational shoot is filled with rich colours and traditional lace, showcasing a casual mix of beauty and urban chic. No detail was left forgotten, from the shoes to the invitation suite.

The lovely bride is the centerpiece beauty, with the waist detail and shoes to die for. But we would be remiss if we did not swoon for our groom! His deep blue suit with a yellow tie and colourful boutonniere is so debonair, and the shoes and watch complete his ensemble—wedding-worthy menswear.

The floral design is particularly striking, with an unusual colour pairing and flowing blue ribbons. This modern yet classic take on wedding flowers benefits urban romance, and they brighten up the bland colours that cities’ backgrounds boast.

Our favorite things about this shoot are the little details that are so lovingly shot—the shoe buckle, the watch, the tied bow, and the socks! Every detail adds to the gorgeous urban wedding tableau.
